Joie Chavis and NFL star Trevon Diggs have welcomed their first child together: a baby girl!
Chavis shared the exciting news on Instagram Stories, posting a video montage of her family’s reactions as she introduced them to the newest addition.
“She’s hereeeeee,” she captioned the clip.
The new mom first announced her pregnancy back in March with an Instagram video that showcased her growing baby bump.
As the months went by, Joie continued to share glimpses of her pregnancy journey. She revealed the baby’s gender in a creative and sweet way—posting a photo of a white cake with the words “Baby is a…” written on it. Later, she uploaded another post where she, dressed in a pink outfit and surrounded by pink décor, cut into the cake to reveal its pink interior, signaling that she was expecting a baby girl.
While Joie initially kept the identity of her baby’s father private, she later confirmed in an April YouTube video that Trevon Diggs is indeed the father of her child. The couple had a brief split in July, but the love between them seemed undeniable at Joie’s baby shower, where the two were seen sharing a sweet kiss.
This is Joie’s third child, as she is already a mother to two children from previous relationships. She shares 13-year-old daughter Shai Moss with rapper Bow Wow and 5-year-old son Hendrix Wilburn with rapper Future.
In a previous YouTube vlog, Joie shared she would be open to having more kids, “I don’t know it’s like I’m feeling like I don’t want to have any more kids after this, but I kind of want to try for one more like a boy or a girl. I don’t know.”
Joie has been open about the misconceptions people have about her relationships and her choice to have children with high-profile partners. In a 2021 interview, she addressed these misconceptions head-on, saying, “[Some people say], ‘Oh, she’s a gold digger,’ or ‘She’s just having these babies to secure a bag.’ I always have worked since I was 15 years old. I don’t know what it’s like to just not do anything. So, I think that’s the biggest misconception and it doesn’t bother me at all. The people that know me know, obviously, I’m much more than that.”
