Eddie Murphy is about to become a grandpa for the second time!
The legendary actor and comedian’s son, Miles Mitchell-Murphy, is expecting his second child with wife Carly Fink-Murphy.
Carly took to Instagram on August 1th to share the news, along with a series of maternity photos that included their 5-year-old daughter, Evie Isla.
“Thank you, God. We can’t wait to hold you soon, our beautiful baby girl,” she captioned the snaps.
Miles and Carly, who tied the knot in a private ceremony on September 9, 2023, recently celebrated their daughter Evie’s 5th birthday.
“Happy 5th Birthday to our beautiful baby girl. I could write a novel on how much you mean to us and how amazing you are. You are truly such a blessing in every possible way my baby. I love you infinity! Forever & always Evie Isla,” Carly shared on Instagram.
Evie Isla was born on June 2, 2019, making Eddie a grandpa for the first time.
In addition to being a grandfather, Eddie is the proud father of ten children. He shares his eldest son, Eric, 34, with Paulette McNeely; his daughter Angel, 17, with Mel B; and his son Christian, 33, with Tamara Hood.
Eddie also has five children with his ex-wife Nicole Mitchell: Bria, 34, Miles, 31, Shayne, 29, Zola, 23, and Bella, 22. Additionally, he and his current wife, Paige Butcher, have two young children: Izzy, 8, and Max, 5.
In a 2019 interview on Live with Kelly and Ryan, Eddie humorously reflected on his expanding family.
“The Murphy family has a great sense of humor,” Eddie said. “I have a 5-month-old grandchild and a 10-month-old son. That makes me a heck of a fella,” the actor and comedian mused. “My son is my granddaughter’s uncle,” he added.
Eddie also shared that he prefers to be called “Papa” instead of the more traditional “Grandad” or “Grandaddy.”
“Grandaddy, Grandad just doesn’t sound or feel right,” Eddie Murphy said. “Papa is nice.”
