We have heard the stories about children grabbing the cell phone of their parents and ordering everything from pizzas to game apps. Well, now, talk show host, Tamron Hall has her own story to share. Recently the 53-year-old shared that her five-year-old son, Moses stole her phone and helped out with the grocery order. The young shopper added 75 yellow onions to the cart, which totaled around almost $90 extra for the bill.
“A few minutes ago I was on a work call and I got a knock at the door, and it was my grocery delivery for this week,” the Tamron Hall Show host explained an Instagram reel video, adding that she was, “about to start crying.”
She continued, “I looked down at my groceries… My son snuck on the app, he’s 5, my son ordered 75 yellow onions totaling nearly 90 dollars.”
“What am I supposed to do with 75 yellow onions,” Hall asked her followers as she dumped the bag of onions onto the ground, showing the evidence. “This is an entire bag of onions! And there’s two more bags!”
Well, many of Hall’s fans shared their suggestions in the comments on what she could do with the onions from what has been dubbed, “Oniongate.” Fans suggested everything from donating the vegetable to sharing with the neighbors, to creating onion soup. And as you would expect there were a lot of crying emojis on every line.
Later on in the day, Hall posted a second Instagram reel where she and her son are in the car, heading out to go and donate the onions to a food pantry.
“Now we’re on our way to donate, how many?” the cookbook author asked Moses who was smiling proudly in the backseat.
The camera pans to the five-year-old who answers, “75!” And then he cheerfully says to the camera, “Let’s go!”
