Cardi B is on bed rest after a frightening incident she experienced a few days ago landed her in the hospital.
During a session on X (formerly Twitter), the 31-year-old pregnant rapper revealed that a “freak accident” almost caused severe complications in her pregnancy.
I was in the hospital for like two or three days. And now that i am back home, I’m in a lot of pain. I got in a little freak accident, [and] i injured myself.”
Cardi, who is expecting her third baby with estranged husband Offset, detailed the ordeal as both “painful and terrifying.”

She explained, “I don’t know how something—well, it wasn’t little, it actually hurt … It doesn’t really happen often, but it [had] become so big to the point I was literally paralyzed.”
The pain was so intense that Cardi needed heavy doses of morphine to manage it. Thankfully, she is now recovering.
Reflecting on the situation, Cardi said, “And that little thing almost cost me my little one to come. But it didn’t. Yesterday I was feeling good. I came home, but I came home high as a kite.”
With her trademark humor, Cardi added, “Today, I woke up sober, honey. I’m dying. If I don’t feel good in four hours, I’m going to the hospital and I don’t give a f***. I will exaggerate this s*** so I can get more morphine. Morphine me down! I don’t give a damn.”
Despite these challenges, Cardi B is “happy” to finally be open about her pregnancy.

On August 4, she took to X to share her relief at no longer having to hide her baby bump, joking, “I’m so happy y’all know that I’m [pregnant] now I can stop wearing those deum [sic] school girl skirts lmaoooooo.”
Cardi announced her pregnancy on August 1, just a day after filing for divorce from Offset, marking a major shift in her personal life.
