Congratulations are in order for son of La La and Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kiyan Anthony. The talented rising high school senior athlete has just been official named as New York State’s top high school basketball recruit for the class of 2025.
The 17-year-old Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., student has already received scholarship offers from some of the best colleges and universities in the country. Of course, his father’s alma mater, Syracuse is on the list, in addition to: Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, Rutgers, and USC.
And as you may expect, inquiring minds all want to know, just where will he go?
Already standing 6’5″ tall, Kiyan is a shooting guard whose strengths lie in offensive.
At the beginning of the summer, the talented young athlete drew attention at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, impressing attendees and scouts with game highs of 42 points in one contest, and 35 points in another.
Kiyan is close to both of his parents, especially his mother, former MTV VJ and actress 42-year-old, Alani Nicole “La La” Anthony Vázquez.
Recently, the teen got a tattoo on his forearm, permanently immortalizing his love for his mother. The touching message that accompanies the tattoo reads, “Dear Mom, you continuously put me before yourself. You are my why. I thank God for you every day.”
So, what does La La think of her son’s tattoo journey?
Well, the Think Like a Man actress, at first, wasn’t good with the idea of her son getting a tattoo. He wanted his fist one at the age of 16, to which she told him that, “… No, you have lost your mind. What 16 year old has a tattoo?” She added, “No you are not. Tattoo when you turn 21. Honestly maybe 18.”
But, remembering when she got her own first tattoo at the age of 15/16, she recanted and Kiyan got his first ink, which reads “Creator of my own Reality,” for his 16th birthday.
Congratulations, Kiyan on this amazing honor. We are all waiting with baited breath to see where you decided to call your college home.
