Tristan Thompson is celebrating his brother Amari’s 18th birthday today with support from his ex-girlfriend, Khloé Kardashian. The former couple came together to honor Amari, sharing touching messages on social media.
On Instagram, Tristan expressed his love and gratitude for his brother, writing, “Happy birthday, Amari! Big number 18! We are so blessed and fortunate for all the blessings that you bring to our lives! You are always a beacon of light! I love you so much and I’m so so blessed to be your older brother
Khloé also shared a sweet message for Amari, posting, “Happy 18th Birthday sweet angel Amari!! I can’t believe you are 18! You have changed our lives in the best possible ways! Thank you for being an angel to us all! You are the sweetest, silliest and most loving young man. I hope you feel how much we love and adore you our sweet angel Amari.”
To mark the occasion, Tristan, along with the Kardashian-Jenner family, organized a private birthday celebration. The intimate gathering featured Jamaican cuisine, paying homage to Amari’s heritage and making the day extra special for the birthday boy.
Who is Amari to Khloé Kardashian?
Tristan Thompson became his brother’s sole caregiver when their mother, Andrea Thompson, died unexpectedly from a heart attack in January 2023. At the time, Amari was just 16, and he and Tristan moved in with Khloé during the difficult time.
“I’m grateful that I’m strong enough and brave enough to be a support system for someone else that has no other support system right now,” Khloé said in a confessional. “You don’t have to treat me right for me to treat you right—it’s not the way I was raised.”
Later in an episode that aired on October 5 on “The Kardashians,” Khloé opened up about Amari’s health issues. “He has the worst type of seizures you can have. And he was having so many … (previously) that it’s caused such severe brain damage,” she said. “That’s why he can’t walk or talk or any of that stuff.”
Khloé continued, “He’s in a really, like, scary place because once he hits age 20 is when it will be really bad if we can’t have any improvements.”
On February 26, 2024, a judge in Los Angeles County Superior Court granted Tristan’s request for legal guardianship.
