“I co-founded Serenity Nail Polish along with James Phinex the summer of 2020. As we all faced the global pandemic of 2020, I was able to spend more time with my daughter, Serenity. I began to take notice of my three-year-old’s, [at the time], love for getting her nails painted,” Jasmine said in the “about section” of the company’s official website

“During a time of uncertainty and fear, I was confident that the time spent with my daughter as we painted each other’s nails were all priceless moments.”

From the Drew Barrymore show, Way Up With Ye, and beyond, Jasmine and Serenity have been spreading the message of encouraging people to be “[creative], confidence, and self-[expressive]” through using nail polish and safe at the same time. And, out of the mouth of babes, a business was born.

“One moment that stood out to me the most was when my daughter asked one day, ‘Mommy, it’s no more nail polish? We need to go to the store.’ Jokingly, I replied, ‘Ok, Serenity, what store should we go to?’ With confidence and her hand on her hip, my three-year-old daughter responded by saying, ‘Let’s go to Serenity Nail Polish store,’” Jasmine remembers how Serenity Nail Polish store was born in 2020 on their website.

In addition to the nail polish line, Serenity has also developed an activity coloring book for little girls like her to not only engage in completing stimulating educational crossword puzzles, but to simply “paint” their nails as well.

So, just what is Jasmine’s advice for other young girls and entrepreneurs out there? Well, in an interview with prettywomenhustleonline.com, she suggests to first and foremost, “always aim high.”

“Always aim high, work hard, and care deeply about what you believe in. And, when you stumble, keep the faith. And, when you’re knocked down, get right back up and never listen to anyone who says you can’t or shouldn’t go on. Don’t let anyone speak for you, and don’t rely on others to fight for you.”
