Dwyane Wade loves bonding with his daughter, Kaavia, over manicures and pedicures, so much so that he is considering launching a nail polish line.
During a recent interview with Jerica Duncan on CBS Mornings, the Hall of Famer opened up about wanting to enter the nail polish business.
“I’m actually thinking about jumping into the nail line. I’ve been in it so long, and I’m like, you know what, it could be a good time. I got some cool ideas and I’m exploring,” he shared.
He emphasized how nail painting reflects his artistic side. “I’m creative, I’m expressive. And, there’s so many ways to do that,” he told Duncan.
One of Dwyane Wade’s inspirations for this potential venture is his 6-year-old daughter, Kaavia Wade. He cherishes the close moments they share over manicures and pedicures.
“One of my favorite things to do when it comes to this is actually sitting down with my daughter and getting my nails painted and paint hers. That’s the time that we get to connect. Me doing something that she loves and also that I love,” he said
Dwyane’s love for nail polish isn’t new. He previously revealed on “The Wine Down” podcast that his initial inspiration came from none other than basketball legend Michael Jordan.
“I saw MJ’s nails and MJ had clear polish on his nails,” Wade said. “At first, I thought I was like I can’t get no polish on my nails I just got to do but because I come from a community where if you do anything outside of the masculine Norm, you’re a gay right and so I was trying to like stay away from certain things because people would say about me right this when I cared and then I went with the clear for a while.”
