Shemar Moore is enjoying both fatherhood and being a stepfather all in one. Recently, the 54-year-old opened up in an exclusive interview about adding more children to the mix. Moore told People Magazine that he is open to the “possibility,” but he “ain’t no Spring Chicken.”
“Possibly. But I ain’t no Spring Chicken,” the S.W.A.T. actor told the outlet when asked about having more children with girlfriend and mother of his-one-year-old daughter, Jesiree Dizon.
He continued, “… and Ms. Thing [Dizon], she’s already got two wonderful kids — her son, Kayden, who’s 17, and her little daughter Charlie, who’s 6 — and they’re sweethearts. And then we got little Frankie. We got our dog, Tyson. So we got a full house.”
“I was raised an only child, so I’m all about. I’m not going to live forever,” Moore added. “And let’s say I make it to 90, that puts Frankie at 37. So I’d rather give her 37 years of all of me, than worry twice and split that up.”
Moore and the 40-year-old actress welcomed Frankie Melelina Kapule Moore in January of 2023.
In a previous interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the Young and the Restless alum credited Dizon for helping him navigate parenthood as she has a lot more experience than he does.
“Thank goodness for that because I just follow her lead in mommy-hood and fatherhood and all that,” Moore said in his interview with the EGOT-winner. “So I’m baby-stepping just trying to figure it all out.”
The Emmy-winner also talked to Hudson about adding to his brood. He made the same comment about giving Frankie the best, undivided 37 years of her life, adding, “So for the rest of whatever life I have left, I want to continue to do my thing and be successful, but I just want to make her proud and give her everything I’ve got.”
Only time will tell if Moore and Dizon add to their beautiful family.
