Disney Jr. and Disney Plus fans rejoice ans Jamaal Avery, Jr. and cast will be back for season two of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures!
If you aren’t familiar with this take on the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures is produced by Lucasfilm in collaboration with Wild Canary for Disney+ and Disney Jr. According to Variety, the show is introducing a whole new generation of little Jedi into the order.
At the end of season one, ScreenRant reminds us that we saw the Jedi attend the opening ceremony of the Starlight Beacon, a space station in the Outer Rim. That places the show firmly in the midst of Phase I of Star Wars’ High Republic multimedia project, and a pivotal moment in the Star Wars timeline. There were many threats facing the galaxy during Phase I, which means the show’s young Jedi will have more than a few challenges to overcome.
Now that we are caught up with season one, what can parents and preschoolers alike expect from season two?
Well, of course, Kai, Lys and Nubs are back and ready for adventure as they delve further into the galaxy of adventure. Disney provided a synopsis of the upcoming action saying that, “In the new season, Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay and Nubs are ready for more adventures! Dressed in their new mission gear, the young heroes will embark on even bigger missions across the galaxy as they continue their Jedi training.”
Leading the young Jedi’s is Kai Brightstar, portrayed by the talented Jamaal Avery, Jr. If his name and face look familiar, it is because he most recently portrayed Young Harpo in the critically acclaimed 2023 film, The Color Purple. The 14-year-old rising star, in addition to The Color Purple, has a plethora of other exiting titles on his resume that include: No Right Way, The Burned Photo, among a host of others.
Alright, young Padawans and parents, set your reminders as the new season is slated to premiere on Wednesday, August 14, airing on both Disney+ and Disney Jr.
