BLUE IVY LEARNED THIS ‘GREAT LESSON’ DURING THE RENAISSANCE TOUR

Blue Ivy Carter, the eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, isn’t afraid to speak her mind, even to her own grandmother, Tina Knowles.

In an interview with The Run-Through with Vogue Podcast,  Knowles revealed that her granddaughter doesn’t hesitate to call her out when she makes blunders on social media.

“Every once in a while, I’ll get a call from Blue, and she’ll say, ‘Grandma, that’s really wack what you just did. That’s really wack. You should delete that,'” Knowles shared with a laugh.

While Tina admitted to sometimes “liking the wrong stuff” on social media, the 70-year-old confessed she doesn’t always take her granddaughter’s advice.

“I’m like, girl, I’m on to the next thing,” she said.

Knowles often showcases her family members on her popular Instagram account, and Blue is no exception. After the 12-year-old made her dancing debut during Beyoncé’s Renaissance world tour in Paris on May 26, 2023, Tina couldn’t resist sharing the moment with her followers.

Reflecting on that unforgettable night during the podcast interview, Knowles gushed, “It was the best. Every night her dad and me would get on the platform out there and we would just be screaming our heads off with no shame at all.”

“And it was a great lesson for her, too, because she was only supposed to do it one time and her mom finally agreed to let her do it because she’d be in rehearsals practicing with them every day. And she did it that one time and you know how the bug hits you. But one of her friends came back and showed her some negative comments,” she continued.

Tina said that when negative comments threatened to dampen Blue’s spirits, Beyoncé stepped in with invaluable advice: “Listen, if you let this get you down, then they won. So you should go and work harder. Get your skills together and go out there and blast this,” Tina recounted Beyonce saying.

In the end, the experience only fueled Blue’s determination. “So it actually worked in Blue’s favor because she was only supposed to do it one time. But now mama bear was on to it and was like,’You go out there and kill it’, and she did. She just grew so much from that experience,” Knowles concluded.
