Angela Bassett’s twins, Bronwyn and Slater, are ready to start a whole new chapter as high school graduates!
Bassett recently shared her feelings about the milestone on the May 29 episode of The Talk.
The Black Panther actress shared her feelings about becoming an empty nester, saying, “Everyone talks about how difficult it is, and I’m sure it is.”
Reflecting on her own experience of leaving home, she continued, “But I remember when I flew the nest and how excited I was to do it, to get away and mature. I’m excited for them, and I’m excited for me. I guess I’ll worry in a different way.”
As for the twins’ graduation, Angela admits that she has not “cried yet”, but she did make the occasion memorable for her kids, whom she shares with husband, Courtney B. Vance.
“I had to make sure I got up, you know, we have the photo of the first day of preschool in the same place, and last day of school, same place. I made breakfast like I did for preschool.”
“I haven’t been able to lately because they DoorDash and all that stuff,” she added.
She also mentioned that the family is planning a trip to Greece just before the twins go off to college this fall.
“My daughter was like, ‘Mom, can we go somewhere we’ve never been before?’ So, somewhere I’ve never been before, Greece, I settled on that,” she revealed. “So they’re excited about that, and I’m excited that they don’t mind traveling with Mom.“
During last year’s BAFTA Tea Party, Angela discussed the possibility of her kids following in her Hollywood footsteps.
“They want to follow the success, but whether it be acting, I don’t get any clues to that right now,” Bassett said. “It’s a little music, a little sports. But whatever they want to do, I support them.”
