Omarion was honored at the 2nd Annual I Love Myself Festival at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza on May 19, 2024. The singer graced the event with his two children, Megaa, 9 and Amei, 8, by his side.
Following the event, the musician took to Instagram to express his gratitude, sharing a series of snapshots. In one photo, he stands proudly with his children, while another image featured him posing with influencer Blac Chyna and their children.
He captioned the snaps, “Honored to be recognized by the City of Los Angeles as the Cultural Impact Honoree .”
Omarion, real name Omari Ishmael Grandberry, was named the Cultural Impact Honoree for using his platform to promote mental well-being. In his acceptance speech, he reflected on his roots in the area, and the significance of the I Love Myself Festival in fostering community and healing.
Blac Chyna, real name Angela White, also received recognition at the ceremony. She was given the Transformation Award in recognition of how she has evolved as a person.
In her acceptance speech, she emphasized the value of asking for help and encouraging therapy, especially when one becomes overwhelmed by serving others. Angela enjoyed the event with her son, King Cairo, and daughter, Dream Kardashian.
The 2nd annual I Love Myself Festival, which was dedicated to self-care and self-love, was organized by the LA County Department of Mental Health and Project Pit.
“In celebration of Mental Health Month, we are excited to produce our second annual I Love Myself Festival. This festival is about community togetherness, rich culture, and freedom of expression, celebrating support, and resource sharing,” the founder of Project Pit said in a statement.
Adding to the excitement, GRAMMY Award-nominated artist Mario delivered an unforgettable performance, serenading the crowd with his classic hits, including “Break Up,” “Crying Out For Me,” “How Do I Breathe,” and “Let Me Love You.”
