Major congratulations are in order for singer/actor Miles Canton. The talented teen has landed a role, rounding out the cast for the upcoming untitled supernatural thriller from Black Panther writer-director, Ryan Coogler.
The teen excitedly shared the news on social media, captioning an image of himself along-side two of his additional castmates.
“I’m super blessed to embark on this new journey,” he wrote. “Can’t wait for y’all to see what we been cooking. So grateful for this opportunity!”
Originally capturing the spotlight with his soulful rendition of one of his favorite songs, “Oh Holy Night,” Canton has gone on to produce and share additional music; however, it is not until now that he has added another notch on his professional resume, actor.
This upcoming project will star Creed actor, Michael B. Jordan. Additionally, it will also feature Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Omar Benson Miller, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Hailee Steinfeld, Li Jun Li and Lola Kirke.
The untitled thriller will be produced by Coogler under the banner of his production company, Proximity Media, with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian also serving as producers for the film.
Canton recently shared a video of himself showing of his vocal skills on Instagram. The 19-year-old stated that over the past “two years” his career has been on a truly successful upswing. Humbly, he took a moment to say “thank you” to his supporters for “rockin wit me.”
“What a year. These last 2 years have been some of the biggest chapters of my life. From graduating, to going on tour, to putting out my first record out so I wanna thank everyone who’s played a part in that. I’m grateful for another year to do what I love to do! Grateful for you guys, the real ones who been rockin wit me since I was a kid lol. Grateful for family and thanking God for just continuing to work in my life. Can’t wait for yall to see what’s next! #19.”
Well, his debut on the big screen is apparently next, and we are applauding this next journey in life for this amazing young man!
