Russell Wilson took to Instagram on Sunday to share a precious photo of him and his boys, Win and Future Jr.
In the snap, the proud papa can be seen posing with the young lads, who are wearing their baseball uniforms.
In the caption, Wilson expressed his pride in his sons’ budding talents. “My Two Boys are Ballers! Future hit 3 Homers Today & Win & him had a blast at Picture day! Thankful I get to raise & teach em how to be Boys and become Men. God is Good!”
Together with his wife Ciara, Wilson is a father to daughters Sienna, 6, and Amora, 2 months, and son Win, 3. Additionally, he helps to raise Future Jr., Ciara’s son from a previous relationship.
For Wilson, being a stepfather to Future Jr. has been a profound blessing—one he wholeheartedly embraced from the start.
During an episode of the “I Am Athlete” podcast, the star quarterback recalled meeting his stepson for the first time when he was only an infant.
“He crawls in my lap and it was like, you know, this is going to be my responsibility,” he said. “I remember leaving that night and God saying to me, ‘Raising this child, it’s going to be your responsibility.’ And realizing, praying to God, ‘Are you sure this is what you want me to do?’ He said, ‘Son, this is for you.’”
Becoming a stepdad was an “opportunity” for Wilson, who considers Future Jr a gift from God.
“I was ready for that,” he continued. “I love children. I love kids and everything else, but it was like, man, to help raise a child, understanding that, [saying], ‘OK, God, you’re going to give me this opportunity. What a gift.’ Even Jesus himself — Joseph was a stepdad. It wasn’t biologically his. It’s been an amazing journey, obviously, raising four kids.”
Wilson also emphasized the importance of treating all his children equally.
“When you’re raising children … you’ve got to love every single child as if they’re yours,” Wilson said. “That’s been the greatest gift of raising Future, Sienna, Win and now Amora, it’s like, man, God gave me that opportunity to raise them and to love them and to care for them … And there’s no difference.”
