Following in the footsteps of Toys “R” Us, the popular store geared towards everything baby and toddler, Babies “R” Us, is making a comeback! Parents, get ready to shop!
Babies “R” Us went out of business in conjunction with their parent company, Toys “R” Us, in 2018. Toys “R” Us reopened in New Jersey in 2022, along with hundreds of pop-up shops located in Macy’s stores across the country. In 2023, the popular baby and toddler gear haven, geared towards parents and parents-to-be, opened a flagship store in New Jersey at the American Dream Mall.
Now, Babies “R” Us is following in their parent company’s footsteps and partnering with a flagship store to reopen. Kohl’s stores will now open its doors and serve as point-of-sale locations for the baby store. Babies “R” Us shops will be located in about 200 Khol’s stores and boast between 750 to 2,500 square feet of space. Just as parents were used to in the past, Babies “R” Us will offer the latest in baby wear, baby gear, furniture, activity, feeding, bath, and safety products. Parents will also be able to shop online and take full advantage of the Babies “R” Us at Kohl’s registry.
“Evolving our assortment and bringing more relevant product to the millions of customers we serve is a core focus as we continue to deliver on Kohl’s broader growth strategy,” Tom Kingsbury, Kohl’s chief executive officer, said in a statement about the reopening.
“We see significant opportunity in the baby gear category, and partnering with Babies ‘R’ Us is another example of how we are finding new ways to optimize our assortment and further establish Kohl’s as the go-to brand for families.”
Parents, grandparents, godparents, uncles, aunts, and more, get ready to shop! The first Babies “R” Us location is slated to open in Kohl’s in August 2024.
