Laura Govan and Gilbert Arenas recently came together to celebrate their daughter Izela Arenas’ senior night.
The event, held to honor senior athletes in high school, was attended by Izela’s entire family, including her grandparents and aunt Gloria Govan.
Taking to Instagram, Laura shared photos from the evening, which included a snapshot of her and ex Gilbert posing alongside their kids.
Govan captioned, “My Babies Senior Night Was One For The Books Our Family Always Shows Up N Shows Out @izelaaarenas.”
The former Basketball Wives LA star continued, “You’ve Been At Senior Since The 1St Grade … Now A Senior I’d Never Thought I’d See The Day! i LoVe U n I’m So Proud Of You Mama 26pts To Finish Off The Year.”
Izela Arenas, a standout guard for Sierra Canyon and a top-100 prospect in the Class of 2024, has verbally committed to playing for the Louisville Cardinals.
In October 2023, Gilbert Arenas congratulated his daughter on her commitment, saying, “Congratulations to @izelaaarenas on her commitment to the University of Louisville. Go Cardinals!”
The former basketball star, who enjoyed a 12-year NBA career, earned three All-Star nods with the Washington Wizards from 2004 to 2007.
Gilbert Arenas and Laura Govan are parents to four children: Alijah, Aloni, Hamiley, and Izela Arenas. The former couple separated in 2014 and, for years, had a tumultuous co-parenting relationship primarily due to disputes over child support.
However, these days, they get along better due to a custody agreement in place and them keeping out of each other’s way.
We get along great now,” shared Arenas in a recent interview, “because I never see her.”
He also noted that their children, now old enough to understand their parents’ difficulties, play a significant role in their improved relationship.
“Kids see everything,” he says. “They hear everything. Words and actions matter.”
