Super Bowl LVIII is right around the corner. To kick-off the countdown to the big night, the stars all turned out in full to attend the Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night press conference. However, it wasn’t Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, or George Kittle who stole the show, it was 11-year-old reporter, Jeremiah Fennell who captured the spotlight.
The Las Vegas native spoke to NFL Network’s Michael Robinson, explaining how he managed to conduct interviews with the pros like a season vet.
“I started to do this at the age of 7 years old because I wasn’t able to play sports due to some medical issues, but I still like the sports environment,” Fennell told Robinson.

“So I decided to hone my craft in journalism at the age of 7. And I started my YouTube channel. And yes, I do think I can keep this as a career because I do still love the sport and I do know a lot about it, so I think that interviewing people can be a long career for me,” Fennell concluded.
During the night, Fennell drafted historical fantasy football teams with Mahomes. While during his interview with Kelce, the young journalist got some insight into the Las Vegas night life, research for the future of course.
All of the athletes that Fennell had the opportunity to speak with seemed extremely impressed with the talented young professional.

Fennell’s viral interview skills also garnered high praise from media professionals across the country.
@MadelynBrooke, called for Fennell to receive an Emmy for his interviews on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Jeremiah Fennell is crushing these media night interviews. Give this 11-year-old an Emmy, what a pro.”
Reporter, Jane Slater, for the NFL Network, wrote on the same social media platform that, “mr. steal my job, followed by three hand-clapping emojis.
Media personality, Jeff Eisenband commented on the fact that of how Fennell took out his earpiece during the Mahomes interview and dominated the conversation, taking over from the producers, making the interview truly it his own.
“Pro move by Jeremiah taking the IFB earpiece out. Can’t hear the producer. It’s his show now.”
Jeremiah Fennell also interviewed Travis Kelce.

"What are some of the funnest things you've done in Vegas so far?"
Kelce: "Last year, we celebrated the Super Bowl win by going to the Wynn and going to Club XS. You can't go to that yet, but maybe one day." 🏈🎙️🤣 pic.twitter.com/lmBxfvUUVR
Fennell first gained viral journalistic prominence in 2023 when he interviewed the Las Vegas Raders star wide receiver, Davante Adams. Since then, Fennell has gone on to interview sports legends such as Drew Brees, Tim Brown, Michael Irvin, members of LSU’s national champion women’s basketball team, Dominique Wilkins, and Tracy McGrady.
Can someone just offer this amazing young man a job already?! He deserves it.
