Michael Strahan’s daughter, Isabella Strahan, documented the emotionel moment she finished radiation after undergoing emergency surgery to treat a cancerous brain tumor.
The 19-year-old student shared in her latest Youtube Vlog her excitement and relief at finishing six weeks of radiation at the New York Proton Center.
“I’m very excited to finally be done. It’s been a long six weeks and I’m very happy to finally heal my head after all of this because the side effects and everything get to you.”
Tears welled up in Isabella’s eyes as she embraced her father and twin sister Sophia before ringing the symbolic bell, marking the completion of her treatment.
“So excited to ring that bell… Never thought I’d be ringing the bell,” she said.
Following the completion of radiation, Isabella sat down Robin Roberts for her first interview with Good Morning America.
During the sit-down, she revealed that she learned about her condition in late October 2023 and underwent emergency surgery at Cedars-Sinai to remove the brain tumor on October 27, a day before her 19th birthday.
“I’m feeling good. Not too bad,” Isabella said to Robin Roberts.
Isabella’s journey is far from over as she prepares for the next step in her treatment—chemotherapy at Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Durham, North Carolina.
“That’s my next step,” she continued. “I’m ready for it to start and be one day closer to being over. …. I’m very excited for this whole process to wrap. But you just have to keep living every day, I think, through the whole thing.”
In her initial vlog, Isabella acknowledged the difficulty of her health battle and the changes she’s experienced post-treatment.
“These past two months, it’s been rough. “It’s been challenging and it’s been very hard but I know I’ll get through it. I know time will heal and things will get back to being — I can’t really say normal because there’s not really normal now in my life, but things will get back to being calmer.”
