Serena Williams and her daughters are proving that you are never too young to start a workout routine. The mother-of-two recently posted an adorable video of she and her daughters “working out” on social media.
The tennis legend captioned her posted video on Instagram, “We all work out in this family. @adiraohanian @olympiaohanian.” In the video, the 42-year-old is seen assisting her six-year-old daughter, Olympia, as she lifts her 4-moonth-old baby sister, Adira, up to a standing position and then lowers her back down.
What has fans all a gasp in the comments is the fact that many didn’t know that Williams is multilingual, hearing her tell her eldest daughter, “doucement,” “assez,” “en bas” and “comme ça,” which translate into English as “gently,” “enough,” “lower” and “like that.” French isn’t the only foreign language that Williams speaks.
The athlete also speaks: Spanish, German, Italian, and Mandarin to varying degrees of fluency.
“I was today years old when I found out she’s fluent in French,” One fan commented on the video.
Another exclaimed, “Wait! She speaks french?!!!!!”
One social media user commented on the fact that it is indeed good to speak to smaller children in different languages.
“That’s good talking to the kids in other languages.. they learn fast.. Joyeux Noel à la famille.”
According to Pregnancy, Birth, and Baby, “learning another language can help your child communicate, connect with their culture, and prepare for life. By speaking to your baby in more than one language, you help them learn. The older your child gets, the more difficult it will be for them to learn a new language.”
Williams and her husband tech entrepreneur, Alexis Ohanian welcomed their second daughter to the world in August of this year. Since then, Williams has been extremely transparent and sharing her motherhood journey and letting fans an followers know that, “motherhood is not as glamorous as you think.”
