“They’re aware of the success, the records and this new diamond certification. They see these things and they see it on a list with songs of, like, the most current artists. Then they see it at No. 1 and they’re like, ‘What in the world,’” she said at the time to the outlet before joking, “Because, obviously, everybody knows I wasn’t born. I was just here, here I am. And I’m not even a real person. I’m just an animated character.”
Monroe and Moroccan are undeniably taking note of their mother’s success and following in her footsteps in the entertainment industry and Carey told Access Hollywood that she “… [loves] seeing them [step] into this performance space…”
“I love it. I love seeing them stepping into this performance space, this music space, and the fact that they’re eager to do it, that’s on them,” she told the outlet.
Carey continued saying that, “I never say ‘you guys gotta do this,’ you know? It’s whatever they want to do and they’re rehearsing for it and going for it and really working hard, so that’s impressive to me.”
The 54-year-old singer shares her two children with multi-hyphenated entertainer Nick Cannon.
