Congratulations are in order for Sanya Richards-Ross and her husband, Aaron Ross, as the couple welcome their second baby boy!
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star took to Instagram, sharing the news via her Instagram stories.
“He’s here!!!!!” the mother-of-two announced. “And he’s healthy, super chill and an absolute cutie! God is so good. Thanks for all the prayers.”
In a video that was also shared on her stories, the 38-year-old is featured on camera with her first-born, six-year-old Aaron Jermaine Ross II, aka Deuce, with a “big brother” balloon predominantly displayed behind the two.
In the video, the camera pans and Richards-Ross can be heard saying, “These moments as a family of four have been super special,” to which her son raises a hand in excitement, exclaiming,”Great day!”
Richards-Ross finished the video by stating, “We’re so blessed.”
The blessings of this new addition to the Richards-Ross family comes on the heels of a devastating revelation of Richards-Ross’ “really bad miscarriage.”
“It was very traumatic,” recalled Richards-Ross in an exclusive interview with People Magazine. “I was in New York and had a really bad miscarriage. I had to go to the hospital. I had to have a blood transfusion. It was very, very, very scary.”
The Jamaican-American Olympian continued, “You already opened your heart to becoming a mom, so it was awful. Even just talking about it… it really was a difficult time.”
Yet, about a month later, Richards-Ross was pregnant again and she told the outlet that despite feeling nervous, she was “ready to meet this little one.”
“At my age, it’s considered a geriatric pregnancy, so I was nervous that the window has started to close. And after the miscarriage, I wasn’t ready to go through something like that again — that physical, mental, and emotional pain.
But my doctor assure me that everything looks good, and sure enough, it worked,” she concluded, “But I just couldn’t be happier and more clear about. I know I can do this. I’ve done it before. I have the support. I know what to expect. I’m so ready to meet this little one.”
