Rihanna loves being a boy mom to her sons, Rza and Riot, with rapper A$AP Rocky.
During the launch party for her Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty collection on Monday night, the singer opened up to ET Entertainment about raising her two kids.
“They’re the best though. Having a house full of boys, I thought I was a girl mom, but I’m a boy mom. I love this. I love it,” RiRi gushed.
Rihanna and Rocky welcomed their son, RZA Athelston Mayers, on May 13, 2022. The following year, Rza became a big brother to the couple’s second son, Riot, on Aug. 1, 2023.
“He struggled in the beginning, but he loves his little brother,” Rihanna said of Rza “Every time he thinks we’re not looking at him, he’ll come over and touch him. If the baby’s crying, he’ll just hold his hands. It hurts him if the baby’s crying. He’ll wake up in the morning just saying, ‘Baby, baby, baby.’ He loves him. It took a while, but he got there, and I’m proud of him.”
In interview with Access Hollywood praised A$AP Rocky’s parenting, describing him as a patient, loving, and great dad.
“I loved him differently as a dad. This is major, major like, it’s a turn on. It’s just like, ‘Wow! What a leader, what a great, patient, loving (dad),” she said. “And my kids are obsessed with him. I’m just a background, I’m an extra. Yep! It happens! … It doesn’t matter if it’s girls or boys, they love their dad differently and I love to see it.”
The boy mom also spoke about the unpredictability of motherhood, saying,“You don’t have an idea. You just hope, ‘I can have kids one day and I hope I can have them in love, and I hope that I can be a part of a family that breaks generational curses and moves forward and does new things and raises our kids better than we were raised and all the beautiful things.'”
She joked the only thing she could have predicted was her son Rza’a forehead. “The only thing I imagined was probably the forehead on RZA,” Rihanna quipped. “Riot doesn’t have it. I’m like, ‘Wait, are you sure [this is my baby]?’ You can’t lose this thing!”
