With Christmas just six weeks away, the timing couldn’t be better for Good Burger 2 star Kenan Thompson’s new collaboration with Nintendo. The father-of-two and his girls are featured in the company’s latest ad campaign, trying out some of their classic games, with new twists.
Thompson even shares some recommendations on which games he and his daughters think are among the best. Take note, and add these to your Christmas list this year.
In an exclusive interview with Vibe Magazine, Thompson talked about not only how excited he was to partner with Nintendo, but to work with his girls on the ad campaign as well.
“I’m super excited about it. I mean, they called, thank God, but they offered the opportunity for me to work with my babies, which is the most incredible thing I have yet to experience in this world,” the former Nickelodeon star said.
He continued, “It was a wonderful shoot day. We shot in this gorgeous house out in New Jersey, so we didn’t have to go far. It was just a whole wonderful setup, and we got to play Nintendo Switch all day. It was a fantastic day spent.”
So, after playing all day, which Nintendo picks gained the Thompson seal of approval?
“I personally love Mario Kart. This new one, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, is great. When we were on set filming, we were playing a lot of Super Mario Party. It’s a great game for everybody to play together,” Thompson told Fatherly.com in another interview about his partnership. “Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is highly impressive, especially with how far it’s come from the original Zelda. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a lot of fun, and then I do some sports games on my own time.”
“This whole experience with Nintendo has been a very, very proud moment, as far as gaming with my girls is concerned,” he said in his Fatherly.com interview. “It was really special, working with my daughters like this and sharing my love of Nintendo while embracing theirs. I’m very grateful for this opportunity to work with my babies because I think the commercial came out pretty adorable, and I think the girls are going to love it and hopefully be very, very proud of themselves.”
