In a surprising turn of events, Keke Palmer is seeking full legal and physical custody of her 8-month-old son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson, whom she shares with Darius Jackson.
This latest legal move follows Palmer’s accusations of multiple instances of abuse by 29-year-old Jackson over the course of their two-year relationship.
In court documents filed on Thursday, November 9, and reviewed by Us Weekly, Palmer detailed a harrowing incident that occurred on November 5. According to the actress, Jackson allegedly trespassed into her home without her knowledge or consent, threatening her and engaging in physical violence. Keke claims he “threatened” her before “lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch and stealing my phone.”
The court documents further outline a pattern of abuse, including the destruction of personal property, such as diaries and prescription eyeglasses, and instances of Jackson throwing Palmer’s belongings into the street. Palmer also alleges that Jackson has hit her in front of their son, engaged in verbal abuse, and even made threats of self-harm with a gun if she were to leave him.
Despite the tumultuous situation, Palmer, known for her role in “Akeelah and the Bee,” has chosen to cover the “reasonable expenses of pregnancy and birth,” as per the petition. However, she is requesting that both parties be responsible for their respective legal fees.
The court documents highlight the possibility of child support orders and the issuance of an earnings assignment without further notice to either party. The legal move by Palmer comes in the aftermath of cryptic tweets posted by Jackson on November 2, where he expressed gratitude and encouraged moving forward.He also reposted tweets reflecting on betrayal and the lack of apologies for mistreatment.
