Following the unveiling of the prestigious accolade, Dupri took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share his excitement, saying,“Man!! I just got inducted into the @blackwalkoffame and it feels amazing!”
Jermaine Dupri’s influence in the music industry is undeniable. He is the creative force behind some of the biggest names in the business, including Usher and Mariah Carey. Through his label, So So Def, he catapulted the careers of artists such as Xscape, Da Brat, and Bow Wow, among others.

Despite having many accomplishments to his name, Dupri firmly believes that his true legacy lies in his family, which includes his daughters Shaniah, 24, and Jalyn,12.
“Family for me is everything because it’s the one thing that keeps your legacy going,” Dupri told Kindred by Parents in an interview. “No matter if you are a superstar, whatever your legacy is, the family keeps that legacy going.”
He continued, “No matter if you are a superstar, whatever your legacy is, the family keeps that legacy going. And a lot of times, people don’t pay attention to that.”

Dupri also highlighted the influence of his eldest daughter Shaniah, saying, “I think my first daughter, Shaniah really made me realize who I am, what my powers were, and what being the boss actually meant.”
While he couldn’t always devote as much time to Shaniah as he desired, Jermaine Dupri now tries to be present as much as possible for his children.
“My kids don’t live with me, so just seeing them as much as possible is probably the one thing that I learned the most – you just got to get in and be present as much as possible,” Dupri said.
