When asked about how she’s been dealing with the divorce filing, she attributed her strength and resilience to her daughter, Monaco. “I don’t know if I would handle this the same way without her because today, I am able to look at her and say, ‘What would I advise you if you were in my shoes?’ and it changes everything,” Jeannie expressed, her voice filled with emotion.
She went on to emphasize the profound impact motherhood has had on her. “I am so thankful to be a mom. “Monaco is my everything.”
Jeannie has also made a significant decision to step back from social media, announcing it through an Instagram post on October 11th. Her post read, “Sometimes you need to take a break and disconnect to heal.”
Rapper Jeezy, also known as Jay Wayne Jenkins, filed for divorce form Jeannie on September 14th in a Georgia court. According to court documents obtained by E! News, Jeezy stated that they are “currently living in a bona fide state of separation” and that their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.”
The filing also revealed Jeezy’s desire for joint physical and legal custody of their 20-month-old daughter, Monaco, as well as the enforcement of their prenuptial agreement.
Jeezy and Jeannie Mai welcomed daughter Monaco Mai Jenkins on January 11, 2022. The pair made concerted efforts to conceive before their wedding in 2021, but fate had other plans.
Jeannie shared the heartbreaking story on her YouTube channel, Hello Hunnay, in October 2021, revealing, “We tried and tried for about a year before we got married. I actually did get pregnant, and I unfortunately lost the baby. I had a miscarriage.”
