Serena Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian have welcomed their second child together-a baby girl!
Williams announced the news on TikTok with a video of her cradling the newborn while seated beside Ohanian and their 5-year-old daughter, Olympia.
She captioned, “Welcome my beautiful angel.”
The clip also included a montage of family photos set to Bazzi’s hit “Beautiful.”
Alexis Ohanian followed with an announcement of his own, saying, “Welcome, Adira River Ohanian.”
He continued, “I’m grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you’ve now given me another incomparable gift — you’re the GMOAT. Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter 🙏 I’ll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.”
Williams first revealed her second pregnancy at the 2023 Met Gala where she showcased her baby bump in a stunning black floor-length dress. The announcement came as a delightful surprise to fans and well-wishers.
“Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala,” she wrote on Instagram.
In 2022, Serena Williams made a decision to retire from professional tennis to focus on her family. In an open letter, she cited three essential factors that contributed to this difficult decision: the desire to expand her family, the unique challenges faced as a woman in the world of sports, and the constant struggle to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
“I definitely don’t want to be pregnant again as an athlete. I need to be two feet into tennis or two feet out,” the 41-year-old added.
