Kimora Lee Simmons was joined by her daughter Aoki Lee Simmons and Diddy’s kids Christian Combs, Jessie James Combs, and D’Lila Star Combs at the HollyRod 2023 DesignCare Gala on July 15, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. The group posed on the red carpet for several pictures before joining other celebrities inside the venue.
Once inside the venue, Aoki Lee Simmons and twin sisters D’Lila and Jessie Combs took to the runway for a fashion show that showcased stunning designs by Sergio Hudson. Kimora Lee Simmons and Christian Combs proudly cheered them on from their seats, showing their unwavering support for their loved ones.
The gala also served as a platform to recognize the exceptional achievements of supermodel and humanitarian, Naomi Campbell. In a heartfelt tribute, Campbell was honored with the prestigious inaugural Jacqueline Avant Award, named after the late philanthropist and wife of music producer Clarence Avant. Unable to attend, Naomi entrusted Kimora Lee Simmons with accepting the award on her behalf.
Speaking to PEOPLE at the event, Simmons spoke on the importance of representing Campbell, 53, who welcomed a baby boy last month.
“It’s important for me, I feel very honored to be here and to be able to support my sister Naomi,” Kimora tells PEOPLE. “You know me, hardworking moms is kind of my thing.”
As a fellow mother of five, Kimora empathized with Campbell’s experience of being a new mom.
“Like any new mom, we’re always overwhelmed and I did talk to her briefly and she sounded in such great spirits. I love her so much and I’m so proud of her,” Kimora continued.
