Gucci Mane took to social media on Friday to reveal the album cover for his highly anticipated project, ‘Breath of Fresh Air.’ The cover art showcases the rapper alongside his wife Keyshia Ka’oir and their two children, Iceland and Ice Davis
“I’m droppin a classic on 10/13. Link in bio save the date —- BREATH OF FRESH AIR,” he wrote on Instagram.
During a recent interview with Apple’s “Zane Lowe,” Gucci Mane discussed his creative approach for his upcoming album. He acknowledged recent tragic events, such as the killings of Young Dolph and Takeoff, and mentioned how these incidents influenced him to take a different direction with his music.
He explained,”I’m just not in the mood to hear a whole bunch of drilling and killing and this and that. Not saying that I haven’t did that before, but just right now, just let me just kind of lead by example and show people that it is more to rap about than my opps and all that.”
Gucci saod that he currently doesn’t feel inclined to listen to music that primarily focuses on violence. Gucci emphasized, “You can rap about going out to eat with your girl or your wife. That’s what all the songs are about. I’m not saying they’re all about the same thing, but that’s the essence I’m trying to capture. Throughout my career, I’ve often rapped about cars, jewelry, and extravagance.”
In addition, Mane aims to present a more vulnerable side of himself through this album. He continues, “You can rap about going out to eat with your girl or your wife. And that’s what all the songs are about. I’m not saying all about the same thing, but that’s what I’m kind of trying to get off. And a lot of artists I see rap about the pain in they life, but me through my career, a lot of times, I do a lot of rapping about cars and jewelry and just extravagance,”
Fans eagerly anticipating Gucci Mane’s new music can already preorder the album, which is scheduled for release on October 13.
