Gloria Govan and Matt Barnes are two proud parents as their sons, Carter and Isaiah, graduated from the eighth grade this past weekend. The celebrity mom and dad took to Instagram with praise for their young scholars.
“I am so proud of the two of you,” Gloria wrote to her sons. “Your growth over this last year has been so much fun to witness,” the celebrity mom shared. “As you begin this new journey of high school, know that this is just the beginning,” Gloria told her sons. “Know that you are capable of great things and believe in them,” the proud mom advised her sons. “Grab every opportunity that comes to you and prosper in life. Love you the most, my loves!”
It seems like just yesterday that Gloria Govan and Matt Barnes were celebrating their sons’ entry into the teen years. “ You were just my babies,” Matt wrote to Isaiah and Carter on their thirteenth birthdays. “Words can’t express how much you two mean to me, you guys are my whole heart and soul,” the celebrity father shared with his sons.
“It’s the best feeling in the world when you guys call me Dad,” Matt exclaimed in his open letter. “I’m proud of the intelligent, handsome, kind, and well-rounded young men you’re turning into. I can go on for days telling you how much I love you two punks but I’ll just keep showing.”
Matt Barnes and Gloria Govan were not alone in celebrating Isaiah and Carter’s graduation from middle school this past weekend. Matt’s soon-to-be wife, Anansa Sims, also took to Instagram with an encouraging message for the teens.
“Beautiful day celebrating the boys at their 8th Grade Graduation,” the model told her social media fans. “So proud and emotional about the amazing young men they’ve grown to become,” Anansa shared. “God please continue to cover our children and our family,” Sims wrote.
“The best is yet to come,” the model declared when speaking about Gloria and Matt’s sons. “High School’s about to be lit!”
