Jasmine Tookes celebrated at her baby shower last weekend.
The model posted on Instagram saying that, “Our baby Borrero shower was yesterday & it was perfect. Thank you @theksimonegroupevents for organizing everything & a huge thank you to @carythestylist @nicolesudyka @brook.e.llen & @paigechristine for bringing my Pinterest board to life.”
This is the first child for the 31-year-old supermodel mom-to-be and her 32-year-old husband Juan David Borrero.
Sharing Tookes’ special day, were fellow Victoria’s Secret models, Josephine Skriver, Shanina Shaik, Sara Sampaio and Kelsey Merritt.
Jasmine Tookes and Juan David Borrero were wed in September 2021, in a lavish ceremony in Ecuador. The pair met in 2016.
“We all happened to be in L.A. for a fashion show,” Jasmine said, in an interview with Vogue Magazine, of her first encounter with Juan, who is the director of international markets at Snapchat. “I went to lunch with Juan and a couple [of] other Snapchat employees. Following that lunch, Juan invited me to a birthday party that same night.”
Jasmine continued. “There was a natural attraction to each other,” the model revealed. “We kept in touch since that night, and the rest is history.”
Tookes waited until the six-month mark to share the baby news with the world. The model posted black-and-white photos from her photoshoot with Vogue, happily cradling her baby bump.
“Baby Borrero The last 6 months have gone by so fast & we can’t wait to meet this precious little angel Feeling so grateful to start a family with you @juandavidborrero,” Tookes captioned the stunning reveal photo.
To which Borrero replied in the comments, “Couldn’t be happier to grow our family with you!”
Tookes told the iconic magazine that the pair decided to wait to share the news because she experienced chronic fatigue during the first weeks of her pregnancy.
“I was so tired to the point I couldn’t even read emails coming through—I’d fall asleep sitting at my computer. I almost fell asleep driving my car,” she said. “The tiredness was something I had never experienced.”
However she admitted that through this pregnancy experience, she has learned to take advantage of one day at a time.
“Every day is scary—you never know what’s going to happen,” she said. “So I just pray, hope for the best, and try to keep an open mind.”
