Keke Palmer showed off her baby bump at the 2023 New York Film Critics Circle Award this past Wednesday (Jan. 4). The NOPE actress shared a picture from her night out in town with her social media fans.
“Such a cool night,” Keke said of the evening. “Thank you again to the New York Film Critics Circle for this honor,” Palmer shared in appreciation of her receiving the Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance in Jordan Peele’s NOPE. “I really am so grateful for the way you appreciate my artistry,” Keke wrote to Peele.
“As I’ve continued to grow, I sometimes wasn’t sure if there was a ‘place’ for all the things I do or want(ed) to do but, I just kept doing me ‘cause that’s all I could do,” Palmer shared of her evolution from child star to established actress in Hollywood. “Loving and leaning deeper into my passion. and as the saying goes, the girls that get it, get it …. you know the rest,” the actress mused.
“I am just happy to be surrounded by people that love the craft as I do, and want to continue to push their boundaries,” Keke said of her plans for the future in show business. “Thank you for seeing me JP (Jordan Peele) and giving me the honor of portraying a character as dynamic as emerald. You are an icon.”
Keke Palmer has been working hard to advance her career while preparing for baby number one with her boyfriend, Darius Jackson. It was just a few days ago that the actress took to Instagram with pictures and video clips from her baby moon.
“I’m really proud of myself for resting [on] this trip,” Keke said of the experience. “I am antsy by nature,” she admitted. “I love having a schedule, even on vacation,” the actress added. “I learned to at least schedule things leisurely so I have something to complete that’s on brand with the theme of the season.”
Palmer, who announced her expectancy of a child last year, went on to stress her need for rest and relaxation as she prepares for motherhood. “I have spent many seasons sacrificing and I am quite fine with that,” the actress revealed. “I learned that from my father,” she continued. “I want to be just like him,” Keke declared. “His life is full and he has given so much. I don’t think giving or sacrificing are bad things, it’s who I am and that will never change. but every season we are meant to embrace something new.”
Palmer ended her latest pregnancy update by saying, “This season I am going to learn how to really take it easy; how to go slow(or slower than I have which is speedy for the average). Because it definitely doesn’t mean my drive and passion will end, just transform and evolve through a different tool.”
