Israel Houghton and Adrienne Bailon’s son, Ever James, has crossed yet another milestone. The youngster was dedicated over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Baby dedication is a Christian ritual in which infants are prayed over and “given back to God.” The purpose of the ceremony is for parents to publicly express their commitment to rearing their children according to Christianity.
Ever’s parents and godparents were present for the occasion carried out by Bishop Michael Pitts of Cornerstone Church.
“So grateful for @bishoppitts who was the one that married us 6 years ago in Paris,” Israel and Adrienne said of the significance of Bishop Pitts serving as host of their son’s baby dedication ceremony. “And here we stand in a solemn moment once again in celebration of our dream @everjames,” the celebrity parents added.
“It was an honor to host him and the lovely @kathipitts for Thanksgiving dinner as well,” Adrienne and Israel said of the Pitts spending Thanksgiving Day with them. “We realize just how blessed we are to have such wonderful people in our lives.”
“And what can we say about the Godparents,” the Houghtons asked in reference to their choosing Claudette Bailon and Gerd Alexander as their son’s godparents. “We couldn’t begin to imagine ANYONE else in that role in his life,” the celebrity parents shared. “We are thankful for our entire squad and deeply honored that you would take on such a huge responsibility to be La Madrina y El Padrino!”
Adrienne Bailon and Israel Houghton welcomed their son earlier this year. Ever James arrived via surrogate. “Our baby boy is here and we are so in love,” Adrienne told her social media fans in her announcement. “He is worth every tear, every disappointment, every delayed prayer, every IVF cycle, every miscarriage. Everything,” Bailon shared.
“All we feel is joy and overwhelming love and gratitude,” the celebrity mom continued. “Grateful to God, to our angel surrogate, and to all of our friends and family who have stood with us for over 5 years on this journey. He’s here and we have never been happier to lose sleep!”
Ever James is Adrienne Bailon and Israel Houghton’s first child together. Israel has five kids in all.
