Cardi B is celebrating her life as a mom on her thirtieth birthday. The ‘Up’ rapper took to Instagram on Wednesday (Oct. 12) to commemorate her special day and to also shed light on her kids.
Cardi shared pictures from a recent photo shoot that featured her striking poses without the family. The recording artist made certain, however, to bring her children into the picture in the caption section of her social media post.
“Made it to 30 with 2 cribs, 6 whips, multiple properties and bless (sic) kids,” Cardi said of her life. “You definitely did that,” one fan exclaimed before giving well wishes to Cardi on her birthday. “Welcome to the club,” another wrote in reference to the rapper turning 30 years old.
Cardi B and her husband, Offset, have cultivated a blended home that includes two kids of their own along with three children Offset fathers from previous relations. Cardi B discussed how she adjusted things in her then-budding career to accommodate her new status as a mom to her and Offset’s daughter, Kulture, during an interview with Vogue last year.
“There weren’t a lot of artists out there who had babies at the beginning of their career. I didn’t have an album out when I found out I was pregnant,” the rapper revealed. “Everybody was so nervous for my career and future, but I kept telling them, ‘It’s easy. Trust me, I’m going to have a nanny and she’s going to travel up and down with me. It’s not even going to be a hassle,’” Cardi said.
As it turned out, Cardi B opted to not hire a nanny for Kulture. “When the baby got here, I couldn’t even think about getting a nanny because I was afraid of anybody being around her besides my family. I’ve never had a nanny for Kulture,” the celebrity mom shared.
Cardi B and Offset welcomed their son, Wave, last year. He celebrated his first birthday in September. “Words can’t describe how this boy came into my life and stole my heart,” Cardi B said of her son in a recent Instagram post. “[Your].name fits you perfectly,” she added. “YOU THE WAVE!”
