Kandi Burruss is speaking out about the abuse some Bravo viewers have sent her oldest daughter Riley Burruss’s way. The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) star recently spoke with PEOPLE exclusively about the abuse Riley suffered at the hands of trolls.
“I despise it. It bothers me so much,” Kandi told the press. “Everybody already knows that Riley dealt with her weight issues growing up in the public eye. People would make comments on her body and say things about her personal look and it really boils my blood,” Burruss shared.
Kandi’s revelation of abuse comes days after Garcelle Beauvais took to social media to expose trolls who direct messaged her son, Jaid, with hateful comments. Several Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH) stars rallied in support of their co-star who told her social media fans that she was emotionally torn because of the abuse her son endured at the hands of adults.

“You can deal with anything for yourself, but you don’t want your kids to be bullied online,” Kandi said in reference to her daughter being the recipient of harassment. “It’s just really terrible,” the RHOA star added.
A few Internet trolls went so far as to recently allege Riley was pregnant. “She was like, ‘Where are they getting this information from? Here I was feeling good about myself and losing and getting my body where I want it to be, and now they’re posting that I’m pregnant? That’s crazy!”
Kandi went on to tell PEOPLE that Bravo viewers go too far when they choose to pick on kids. “The people who watch our show and who are on our show, sometimes they take things too far, and it’s not cool,” Burruss shared. “It’s crazy,” she added.
“This is a TV show at the end of the day,” Kandi told the press. “Words definitely matter,” Burruss said. “I’ve seen one of my kids definitely get bullied multiple times.”
Riley Burruss opened up about her weight loss journey a few years back. The then-teen revealed her decision to work with a personal trainer to lead a more healthy lifestyle. Riley did not have confidence that she would lose weight at the beginning of her journey. The youngster was inspired, however, after losing her first five pounds.
Riley continues to advocate for healthy living while attending New York University (NYU). Kandi Burruss has three kids in all.
