Tristan Thompson has been paying child support to Maralee Nichols for their son, Theo Thompson. An attorney for the star athlete recently confirmed his financial contributions to his son’s development.
According to a statement given exclusively to Us Weekly, Tristan “is paying, and has paid, child support to Ms. Nichols retroactive to the date she delivered the child.” Such a confirmation is in direct contrast with a statement made by Maralee Nichols’ rep who told the press in February that Thompson was not giving financial support for their son.
“Despite news reports stating otherwise, Tristan Thompson has done nothing to support their son,” the spokesperson shared at the time. “He has not made any attempt to meet their son nor has he provided any financial assistance,” the rep added. It is not clear if Thompson has met Theo since Nichols gave birth in December. The NBA player publicly acknowledged fathering a child with the fitness model in January.
“Paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,” Tristan said in a statement. “I take full responsibility for my actions,” he added. “Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son,” Thompson told the public.
Tristan was in a relationship with Khloé Kardashian at the time, which led him to give an open apology to the Good American founder for infidelity. “Khloé, you don’t deserve this,” Tristan wrote. “You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”
Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson expanded their family with another child a few weeks ago. The little one made Khloé a mom for the second time and Tristan the father of four kids.
