Robert Burton of ABC News and his wife, Jeannette Reyes, have welcomed a child. The news anchor took to Instagram on Saturday (Jul. 2) to announce the arrival of their baby girl.
“She popped out three weeks early on us,” Robert told his social media fans. “Isabella Sofia Burton,” the news anchor said of his daughter’s name. 6 lbs 5 oz. June 30th, 12:03 pm.”
Robert Burton shared the expectancy of his and Jeannette’s first child in February. The ABC News anchor uploaded a video in which his wife executed the perfect plan to reveal her pregnancy to her husband.
“I told my husband one of our followers asked us to record a birthday shout-out for her friend in our ‘anchor voices,'” Jeannette told her social media fans. The FOX 5 DC news anchor then cut away to the video clip in which her husband played along believing he was satisfying a friend’s wishes.
Robert could not grasp the notion of his wife expecting a child at first. His wondering quickly turned to joy, however, upon realizing that she was not joking.

“Years ago, we learned that I had PCOS,” Jeannette told social media fans. “Though not impossible, we knew that we’d need some help getting pregnant,” the news anchor added. “After a year of trying, and a failed IUI, we decided that IVF was our best option,” Reyes revealed. “Thanks to lots of prayers and a little science, we are now expecting our own little blessing.”
Jeannette Reyes and Robert Burton were expecting their daughter to arrive later this month. Little Isabella, however, decided to come a few weeks early to the excitement of her parents and the delight of Robert’s social media fans.
“Congrats,” one fan exclaimed after seeing the picture Robert shared online. “She’s cute,” the Instagram follower declared. CDub Brazier of SNY Sports said, “Congratulations to you both! So happy for y’all.”
