The countdown to saying goodbye to 2021 and ushering in 2022 has begun. If you are looking for some fun was to welcome baby New Year with your children, we have got you covered. Here are six ways to ring in the New Year with your kids.
1. Have a mock midnight.
No everyone can stay up until midnight, especially if you are a little one and have an early bed time. For the little one’s you can have a “Noon Year’s Eve,” celebrate before nap time kicks in. For the older one’s, you can employ the “It’s midnight somewhere” idea and celebrate before their appropriate bedtime. If you have a teenager, let them stay up late and ring in the New Year with you at midnight!
2. Celebrate in a different time zone
Countdown to 2022 with a different time zone. For those on the East Coast, celebrate with those in London, getting your NYE countdown finished by 7:00 p.m. For those in the West, check out the happenings on the East Coast, getting your countdown in and then getting to bed!
3. Snacks attack!
Let the kids come up with dinner for the night before they go to bed. Allow your children to set the menu for the night and dig-in. Whether it is a meal made up of Oreos, Mac & Cheese, and popcorn, dig in. Since they are not going to get the opportunity to ring-in the New Year with the adults, let the celebrate their own way!
4. Get dressed up, take pictures, and have your own dance party.
They may not be able to go out and celebrate, so have your own party at home. Everyone can get dressed up in their fanciest clothes, you can put on some tunes, and make it a party at home. But make sure to get some party hats, crowns, noise makers, and feather boas. And, you can even have a toast to the upcoming New Year with glasses of sparkling apple juice. Be sure to snap lots of photos to share.

5. Have a movie night
Line up a few of their favorite movies, and have a movie night. There’s nothing like a binge-a-thon and the kiddos might just enjoy movie night more than ringing in the new year in the traditional way.
6. Do your own ball drop
One of the most exciting parts of New Year’s Eve is the actual holiday ball drop. So, why not create your own by smashing the piñata at the stroke of “midnight.” Fill it with candy and let the kids break through to 2022!
