Grant Hill is in full support of his daughter, Myla, who recently won her first amateur MMA fight in Lakeland, Florida. The former NBA player took to his private Instagram page to write a touching post to his 19-year-old rising star.
“Four days later and I’m still in awe of my daughter @mylahill performance in her first amateur MMA fight,” Grant shared. “She was focused, composed (which her mother and I were not before and during the fight), aggressive, and clearly not afraid of the moment inside the octagon,” Hill said.
MMA fighting is a full-contact sport that is quite combative. Participants are known to punch and kick their opponents for the win. Fighters may not grab their opponents by the throat or intentionally throw competitors out of the ring. The main idea behind MMA fighting is to use various combat techniques to come out on top without resorting to cheap shots to win.
This is Myla Hill. She is 19. She just won her amateur MMA debut in Lakeland, Fla.
She is also the daughter of basketball legend @realgranthill33. Incredible.

Myla Hill wasted no time with her opponent, Jenna Loza. The 19-year-old began her segment with a bang by landing a right hook, which got the fight to the ground. Myla ultimately escalated the fight to a full mount that gave her the victory.
“I’m mostly (sic) proud of how much hard work and dedication she’s put into this with the guidance of John Burke and his @6levels team,” Grant Hill said of Myla’s success. “Her commitment and discipline, along with her love of the ‘grind,’ has been truly been inspiring,” the celebrity father said. “I knew she’d defeat her opponent when her walkout music @richforever #TheDevilIsALie,” Grant mused.
Myla is Grant Hill’s oldest daughter. She holds a purple belt in martial arts and trains as a rising MMA fighter at The 6 Levels near Orlando, Florida. Grant Hill also has a younger daughter named Lael Rose Hill who commemorated her fourteenth birthday this year.
