Watching and celebrating your children’s milestones are important for not only them, but for you as well. However, there are some parenting milestones that you should be celebrating if you are not. So, once your little one is able to check a few things off of their list, we won’t blame you for doing your version of an NFL touchdown dance while you check some things off of yours!

1. They have mastered cleaning themselves in the bathroom
This is a major celebration moment! When your child can go potty all alone and make sure that they are squeaky clean without your help, C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E!
2. They entertain themselves until you wake up
Catching more ZZZ’s is always a score! When your children actually let you do it and don’t wake you and entertain themselves all in one will make it seem like you hit the lotto.
3. Trips anywhere without the gear
Let’s face it, although necessary, baby gear is a bit cumbersome and at times leaves you with no extra hands. When you get to the stage of trips anywhere without the gear, R-E-J-O-I-C-E. You will discover that you even have extra trunk space too!
4. They buckle themselves in
Buckling and making sure that car seat buckles are snug and ready for you to roll are sometimes a chore within itself. However, this won’t last long and your kiddos will be buckling themselves in before you know it. Make sure that all is properly tight and ready to go before you pull off, but enjoy the fact that you are still not trying to get the straps untwisted.
5. They actually eat what is on their plate
Gone are the days where dinner time has to become a negotiation. Kids will actually eat what is on their plate and there will be no complaints. Taste buds are maturing and they are willing to try new things, and there’s the kicker, they actually like it!
