Many of us took the time during quarantine to learn new skills, reconnect with old friends and more. Well, Mixed-ish star Trinitee Stokes had other plans-to hit the books hard. Now, this 15-year-old is headed to college!
The talented young actress teased posted about her graduation news on Instagram last month, teasing where she would be continuing her education.
“Soooo, I found out mid school year that I had enough credits to graduate high school and with honors. I also have 29 college credits! As of last month, I was accepted into college at age 14 AND with a merit scholarship. Y’all, I am so EXCITED and can’t wait to share with you my school choice and what I will be studying. Being in quarantine wasn’t ALL bad. LOL. The Lord can use EVERYTHING and work it for your good. I am career and education FOCUSED! P.S. I am on a countdown to get out of this Algebra 2 #boldandblessed.”
Once it was revealed that she would be attending Emerson College, Stokes was also able to share the news that she was a history-maker as well. Stokes has become the youngest student to ever attend the private Boston, MA college.
“We are enormously excited to welcome Trinitee to Emerson,” Lee Pelton, President of Emerson College, commented in statement. “She is a remarkably talented young woman in several dimensions, and I have no doubt she will succeed at Emerson.”
Stokes has always been a highly-motivated scholastic achiever. She skipped second grade and took college courses in middle school . She told WAPT that, “The college classes, especially during COVID-19, I just stacked up and stacked up all of my learning and it equated to my teacher saying, ‘You’re going to be graduating this semester.’ I was like no way!”
Stokes portrays Tamika on ABC’s Mixed-ish, but you may also remember her as Judy Cooper from from the Disney Channel hit, KC Undercover.
So what does Trinitee plan on studying in college? Well, the Mississippi-native has her sights set on pursuing political communication with a minor in public diplomacy. Congratulations, Trinitee! This is unquestionably just the beginning of your amazing journey.
