The marathon continues! Lauren London continues to build on the legacy left behind by her late fiance, Nipsey Hussle, despite her bereavement over his tragic death. The celebrity mom shares her reason for accepting her role in Michael B. Jordan’s Without Remorse while still processing her loss.
“Michael reached out to me as a friend and he was so unsure if I was even going to ever work again,” London tells Entertainment Tonight (ET). “And he was like, ‘Look, I’m unsure if this is what you want to do, but I have to follow my intuition, I have to ask you if can you just read the script.'”
Lauren decided to accept the role for the sake of her children. “We can’t stop,” the actress tells ET. “We do have a purpose, all of us,” she adds. “It’s important for my sons to see me moving forward with grief, not just curling up in a ball, because I curled up in a ball for a long time.”
Lauren London has one child, Ermias Asghedom, with her late fiance. The actress also has a son named Kameron Carter with rapper Lil Wayne. Kameron, who celebrates his twelfth birthday this year, had words at Nipsey Hussle’s homegoing service in 2019. The youngster shared memories of a dream he had after Nipsey’s death.
“I was in a paradise and I was playing in the ocean water when Ermias popped up right behind me,” Kameron told the service’s attendees. “I turned around and I yelled his name and gave him a hug,” the youngster shared. “Shortly [after] he was gone but it was still cool. I told my mom about the dream, and after, I told her I was thinking about it. And I realized that Ermias told me what heaven was like. He told me it was paradise.”
“He’s just a little more aware,” Lauren says when explaining Kameron’s relationship with Nipsey Hussle, real name Ermias Joseph Asghedom, and her motivation to go back to work. “We will continue moving on as we had to, as [Nipsey Hussle] would want us to,” the actress declared.
