Marsai Martin is a true trailblazing Renaissance young woman. With multiple projects in the air, she continues to do more and more. It was recently announced that she will partner with Girls Inc. to executive produce their inaugural film festival.

The film festival, Girls Inc.’s second virtual event as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held on June 13th at 4:00 PST. And of course, everyone is beyond exited that Martin has returned to help the organization by executive producing the festival.
“Marsai is a trailblazer and powerhouse who is using her platform to open doors of opportunity for young girls and people of color,” said Girls Inc.’s president and CEO Stephanie Hull in a statement. “She leads by example and inspires girls everywhere to believe in their dreams and see no limit to their potential. Marsai is an incredible champion of our work, and we are grateful for her support.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ticketed event will feature live and pre-taped appearances and showcase a series of short films. The films set to screen come from leading female directors and will feature members Girls Inc.
Girls Inc. described the participants of the inaugural festival as “an inspiring group of girls and young women who represent a new generation of leaders and change.”
According to their website, the long-standing organization was founded in 1864 to serve girls and young women who were experiencing upheaval in the aftermath of the Civil War. Across the decades, they have adapted to meet the specific environmental challenges facing girls and young women, always working in partnership with schools and communities, and guided by our founders’ fundamental belief in the inherent potential of each girl.
Hull further explained what it means for the organization to help girls reach their full potential and why the upcoming film festival is so important.
“Through the Girls Inc. Film Festival, we will showcase short films featuring an inspiring group of girls and young women who represent a new generation of leaders and change-makers. Girls Inc. believes girls have the right to express themselves with originality and enthusiasm. We are working towards a society in which every girl’s story has a place.”
