Joie Chavis took to her Youtube to debunk the assumptions that people have about her. During the Q&A session, the celebrity mom denied that she is a ‘gold digger’ and revealed that she doesn’t even get child support from the fathers of her kids, Bow Wow and Future.
“I feel like a lot of people say that. I am not a gold digger,” she mused.
She continued, “I have worked since I was 15. I take care of my kids. I don’t get any child support. I don’t really need to ask for certain things for my kids cause I can do everything myself. If their fathers want to do certain things for them, they do it on their own time. I don’t really ask for anything.”
The mom of two also shared that she won’t have any more children unless her future husband desires them.
“I really feel like I am done having kids, but then I want to get married. And I want to be in love. I want to experience that with my husband if that’s what he wants. If he jumps in the marriage with me and he’s like, ‘I don’t want kids’, then we’re good. But I also wouldn’t be selfish, I definitely would have more kids. “
Chavis already has a son and daughter with rappers Future and Bow Wow, respectively. The entrepreneur admits to having a great relationship with Bow Wow. “We are so cool now. I really look at him like a brother.”
Bow Wow recently echoed the same sentiments in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked UNCENSORED. The rapper, who shares one daughter, Shai, with Chavis, said, “Oh it’s easy, me and Joie, that’s my dawg. So proud of her.”
The 34-year-old and Chavis have been co-parenting their soon-to-be 10-year-old since their 2013 breakup. Bow Wow admits that things weren’t always perfect in the beginning, but he has learned how to co-parent with his ex.
“It’s easy man, and I think with time, you know, not everything is perfect in the beginning, but as we grow, and we mature, and no one likes drama. … That’s my dawg for life, and she know I’ll do anything for her, that’s my homie,” he said.
