Lauren London, Nipsey Hussle’s sister, Samantha Smith, and their kids enjoyed some family time fun in Arizona. In a now deleted photo shared by Samantha, the group of six can be seen posing while the picturesque mountains of the southwestern state serves as a background.
“Been building intentionally. Placing the energy unconventionally,” Smith captioned the photo.
This past Wednesday marked the second anniversary of Nipsey Hussle’s untimely death. In honor of the late rapper, whose real name is Ermias Joseph Asghedom, both Lauren and Samantha took to their respective social media pages to pay their respects.
Samantha shared in an emotional post to her late brother: “I am missing you more than ever. Feels like I’ve been holding my breath for 2 years reminding myself to breathe. I always imagined you here sitting in the emptiness trying to create sacred space from it. I am crying more than ever.
Adding, “I don’t fight the tears anymore they’re my normal now. I don’t fight the fear or the pain I just push through anyway. Connecting with you every way I know how. So much I want to say but I’ll leave it at this…You are the bar. The example. The Truth. Undeniably. Anyone that says otherwise don’t know they self and that type of energy never did concern us. Anything you ever told me to do is being implemented. Anything you ever told me to leave alone has been cut off. I respect you to the fullest and continue to dedicate my life to the mission you started until we meet again. What an amazing human what an immense Soul. I love you Ermias.”
London also penned a touching tribute in honor of her love. She began, “The Day Of Ermias’ transition changed the course of my life forever. 2 years, and it feels like yesterday and eternity all at the same time. Grief and Healing have been constant companions on this journey.”
She continued, “In Honor of His life and demonstration … May all of Heaven exalt Your name for all You did on Earth and beyond. Brave and Beloved Soul, Ermias. You are missed deeply. You are loved immensely. You will forever be. I love you eternally.”
Nipsey and Lauren were together for five years until his death in 2019. On March 31, 2019, the rap star was fatally shot outside of his apparel store, Marathon Clothing Company, Los Angeles. He left behind a son named, Kross, whom he shares with Lauren. Hussle also has a daughter Emani, 13, from a previous relationship.
