Fantasia Barrino and her husband Kendall Taylor are expecting their first child together, and the couple has now revealed the gender of their unborn baby.
Taking to Patreon on Tuesday, the couple announced that they are having a baby girl.
Barrino and Taylor said that they hosted the gender reveal on paid platform Patreon to “give something back to our fans”.
“We are not charging for the gender reveal. This is our new platform.”
Barrino recently opened up about her past fertility struggles due to the fact that one of her fallopian tubes had closed. The singer and her husband considered having a child via in vitro fertilization before letting “God Be God”.
“At first, we thought we were going to have to do different things,” Barrino shared. “This is a three-year journey we’ve been on.”
She continued, “And then I woke up one night, and I was just like, ‘Something’s different.’ ”
Barrino took a total of six pregnancy tests and threw one of them at Taylor when the results came back positive.
“I was so excited,” she gushed.
“When she threw [the test] at me, I was like, ‘Yo, you playing? Are you serious?’ ” Taylor recalls. “And from that point, it just increased our faith even more.”
Fantasia already has two children from previous relationships — Dallas Xavier, 9, and Zion Quari, 19 — and Taylor is dad to a son named Treyshaun.
