Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz celebrated their son’s sixth birthday this past weekend. Genesis Ali Dean put another candle on his birthday cake on Sunday (December 27).
“Happy birthday sweetest Gen Gen,” Alicia Keys wrote to her little one. “You are full of so much light and fire,” the recording artist exclaimed. “I love your individuality and warrior spirit! And I absolutely love walking your path with you! Always here and always near! My little prince!”

Genesis Dean is the youngest of Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz’s two kids. Alicia announced her little one’s arrival on Instagram in 2014. “The joy of joy is joy,” Keys exclaimed online. “It’s a boy,” the celebrity mom told her social media fans. “We are so grateful,” Alicia said of her and Swizz Beatz’s excitement.
Genesis has gotten his feet wet in the entertainment industry alongside his older brother, Egypt Dean. In fact, some recognize the youngster as a producer and filmmaker in the making.
Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz enjoy letting their kids find themselves in life. In fact, Alicia recently shared how motherhood helped her unlock her authentic self.
“It doesn’t matter how much success you’ve had or how much money you have, whatever you have is kind of fleeting — it’s about what spirit you have,” Keys shared during her interview with Clash. “Nobody is being encouraged to be more themselves,” she added.
“[Everyone is encouraged to be] more like everyone else, that’s what we’re encouraged to be,” Alicia said. “Motherhood got rid of all that stuff, about making people happy,” the celebrity mom explained. “Everything became more clear.”
