Toni Braxton is showing her son Denim Braxton-Lewis some love on his 19th birthday. The singer took to her Instagram earlier today to share a video of her oldest child on his special day.
She captioned, “How am I the mom and I had to get @denimbraxton’s approval to post this video? I mean….”
Adding, “Happy 19th Birthday to my oldest love! Mom Loves you…much.”
In the clip, Denim hugs his mom goodbye as he heads out for his birthday. “You supposed to be home for your birthday. Alright, love you. Safe travels,” Toni says dolefully.
“Love shoulda brought him home for his birthday. Love you, Toni,” one fan joked while referencing Toni’s popular song, Love Shoulda Brought You Home
Denim is growing up before our eyes! The teenager graduated from High School this past June.
“Proud mom of Denim Kole Braxton Lewis,” Toni shared on her son’s graduation day along with a picture of him wearing his commencement cap and gown. “Class of 2020,” the celebrity mom wrote.
Denim’s high school graduation came in the middle of a double pandemic of racism and COVID-19. Toni Braxton was among those who spoke out when protests erupted over George Floyd’s killing by Minneapolis police.
“I’m a mother,” Toni Braxton wrote in a heartfelt post. “Look at my sons,” she added. “@denimbraxton just finished high school on Thursday. He and @diezel.braxton are so young and ready to discover their way in life and there’s nothing I can do to protect them from the hate because of their beautiful black skin. No matter where they go in this world, I will always be their BMW,” Braxton concluded.
