Alicia Keys is helping her kids get into the groove of going back to school. The celebrity mom recently shared a video clip that showed her preparing Egypt and Genesis for a virtual school year.
In the clip, Alicia tells her sons that they need a schedule to stay organized. “Last [school] year you would say, ‘Oh, I don’t want to do the Zoom. I don’t want to do my math. I don’t want to do the counting. I don’t want to do the reading. I don’t want to -‘ and we’re not doing that this year,” Keys told her kids. “And it’s time to be ready for a schedule,” the celebrity mom added. Genesis responded to his mom’s declaration by giving a thumbs up.
“Y’all know you have to have these conversations with the kids sometimes,” Alicia Keys told her social media fans after posting the conversation. “Get ‘em ready,” the celebrity mom said. Alicia also invited parents to share stories of how they prepared their kids for the upcoming school year.
Things have been different this fall thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. Many kids are learning from home as parents continue to work with government officials to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Alicia Keys and her husband, Swizz Beatz, joined dozens of parents in adjusting to sudden quarantine rules earlier this year. Genesis and Egypt were thrust into a virtual world led by chaos and uncertainty on the educational front. Now, several months after the initial shock of lockdowns, Alicia is ready to present a more organized structure to her kids for optimal learning potential.
